I rarely do the same thing every morning, but there is one routine that I follow every day without fail: I open the blinds in my room, often without even realizing what I am doing. Most of the time I don’t remember the act of pulling the string that adjusts the wooden slats from vertical to horizontal, but they always end up open, because allowing the daylight to infiltrate our bedroom is vital to my emotional and spiritual well-being.
